THE IMAGINATIVE JOURNEY BEGAN IN EAST LONDON, 2010.
RI.by.CARRIE is the creation of Hong Kong-raised, UK-educated designer and SCMP writer Carrie Chan. Her first fashion practice started at the print design section at Alexander McQueen. She later became an assistant to the designer duo Boudicca in their Paris collections as well as creative projects such as album cover styling for UNKLE.
The idea for RI by CARRIE was born Carrie was musing over the conversations, tales, fragments collected in Asia against the modern backdrop of the bustling London.
Legwear is the canvas for the original, bold prints boasting her imagined tales: digitized Chinese painting in a secret backyard, swirls of petals bursting from an origami vase , modern geisha flying on the mythical creature Qilin. The multi-coloured, limited edition line offers fully printed leggings and hand screen-printed tights. It will be presented to individual buyers in Paris during the fashion week.
