"Quite frankly, it took some time before I got around to what it is exactly that Dutch designer Heyniek (real name Niek Pulles) is doing.
Yes, I’d seen his tie dye leggings, black & white vacuum masks and mask experiments for the Droog Flower Salon, but then I’d also seen his visuals for the Massive Music Party in Cannes, his architectural installations (Architectural Acoustics, NL) and various fashion illustrations.
Confused? It turns out the 2009 Design Academy of Eindhoven graduate is just a young stylist, creative film-maker, artist and designer, who loves to experiment and have fun. His mission, apparently, is to “help people visualize their ideas through films, photos and visual experiments”,while on facebook he describes himself as “fast, enthusiastic, colourful [and] always hunting for something new”.
From his varied work samples and online profiles, Niek comes across as hyper-energetic, moody, wildly artistic and uplifting; an energy-bomb about to go off at any minute.
I think that’s also what initially drew me to his work, along with a certain unpredictability which defines everything he does. "
Heyniek's legwear collection is a limited collection and global online exclusive to DADDYLONGLEGZ. All pieces are hand painted by the designer Niek Pulles.
